Hi,
I am now a month thorugh my PhD and I think it is the right time to begin my literature survey (I am aware it will build up and change in next few years). I was talking to my colleague and I found out that he is planning to read 1400 articles. I have to admit that such a high number surprised me a bit and it made me wonder whether I should focus rather on quality than quality of publications.
Hence I have a question to you all. What is the best method for literature survey? What approaches have you taken while starting your PhD? What would be your advice?
Thank you :)
A.
Hi Jay,
Thank you for your advise and for the links to your tutorials.
I feel a slightly better now, however, still struggle a little. I have managed to talk to one of my supervisors and clarified some aspects of my PhD program.
Thanks again and best wishes.

Hi,
I have recently started PhD for which I did not have to write a research proposal because it is a part of a bigger, fully funded project.
I received a short documentation re what is the PhD about and I had one meeting with my supervisor. However, despite the short meeting with my supervisor, I am still feeling lost. I'm not sure where and how to start. I have asked my supervisor for an advise but received none.
How did you start?
Thanks,
A.
Hi,
I know I am becoming repetitive but two weeks ago I have asked here for help re my research. I have posted a link to the online questionnaire and I have received a great feedback. However I need to increase my sample. I am especially hoping to get more responses from those who are between 18-24 yo. I was hoping you could help me again! All other age groups are also valuable of course!
Thank you, Aga
Hi,
I am currently working on the research about online privacy. The results are much better now after I have posted my previous thread here, on the postgrad forum. However, I need more participants so, if you have spare 10 minutes I would be grateful if you could participate in the survey. The results will be used in the academic publication.
In return, I am willing to help with your research. Thank you!

Hi Jacky,
I have done it for you. I couldn't quite understand some of your questions (the sentences structure confused me). I hope that helps.
In return could you please have a look at my survey?
Thanks :)
