i would like to know if any students experience crime or serious sexual crime during research in campus or out of campus due to conduct research. i had a terrible experience but the offender still in the campus but they ignore my complaint and dismiss the crime case. i had signifant evidence and knew other ex victims. police told me not enought witness for prosecution.
i already inform the police but they and the librarians do nothing about to stop this offender come back to library. i'm afraid this guy will do the same trick to harm other people.
don't know what to do?

update around supervision issue. I've just read a book from Professor Delamont. S et al. . ' Supervising the Doctorate.' After the Tory, i've been talking to some phd students, some local and overseas. There are some phd students need to change 5 supervisors to relocate 5 different locations. Hope they're funded. But there are some with family without funding had problem to change supervisor and relocation unless they're teaching and guarantee had job after all these stuff. The authors mention 'phd supervison is like business not a emotional issue.' Students and family shouldn't be affect by not a good university with not good enough supervisors.

I've change my direction with another university with a mobile research department. But they accept people writing proposal and give out small grant and attend AGM conference, published small books or journals etc. for f-t or p-t for leisure purpose. Books can be sold if published. This is a good experience for early researchers and writers.

After 5 yrs.By the way, i do come back to the original university and contact with the new dean e-mail her opinion. She had no reply and pass it to the research office and told me to rewrite everything again myself without discuss with any tutor. I still very disappointed about this university and very bad research facilities in some point.

This is quite a old message but problem supervisions still exist . The university i finished the MA not good enough good phd supervisors either. some had little research topic or not enough experience. That's what supervison goes wrong. Some academic changing due to personal, political, economic ,health , retirement or other factors which affect MA or Phd training to academic performance. It's better choose a better university in long term for Ma to Phd training to research or academic job. Otherwise, I had finished my MA and some research certificate but still looking for a Phd supervisor in the right field or the right university in this 20 yrs. some universities is completely wasting people time when there is not enough Phd level supervisons or keep changing staffs. Government should give more funding on phd programme for more academic jobs to adjust the globalisation world.
