I am new to this forum and I am just posting up for some assistance with one of my PhD studies. In my PhD I am investigating leadership in the context of academic research supervision. We are interested in how PhD supervisors can foster better relationships with their students, help them to be more engaged with their work, and cope better with setbacks.

For my current study we are conducting an online survey targeted at current PhD students, investigating how supervisors impact upon student's beliefs about ability, and how they cope with setbacks. We want to make sure that our sample is as diverse as possible, not just from my own institution, so I hope I can use forums like this to help collect my data.

The questionnaire contains questions about your supervisors' leader behaviours, your beliefs about ability, feelings of competence in your PhD work, and how you cope with setbacks. It takes around 15 minutes to complete and there is no followup. If you are a PhD student currently, then if you could please take the time to complete my questionnaire, that would be a tremendous help. Full study information at the link.

As I'm sure a number of people on this forum are in/have been through the process of data collection, I hope you understand how much I will appreciate your assistance with this. The research has the potential to impact PhD students in the future so it is important research!
