Thanks for making me smile today : ) Did you accidentally highlight what you'd written, cut/delete, and then hit submit? I actually did that once before with a piece of work - and it could not be restored... eughh still makes me sick to think of it.
Add more details and we will surely do our best to help : )
Sorry to hear that. Don't give up!
There are no hard fast rules. It is always courtesy to say thanks in my humble view. And if you want feedback, you've every right to ask for it - they may give some and it may even be helpful.
I'd go with the project if you think you will like it, especially if, as someone has said, the uni is highly regarded for your field (much more important than overall ranking I've heard). The campus might even grow on you!
Thank you RLD1984!
Hi Autumntimes
Try not to let the worry drag you down. Are you getting any support for the depression right now? I only say that because it sounds an incredibly stressful time you're going through. Your wellbeing is much more important than any degree.
Best.
Tudor
As someone with no virtually no viva experience I wondered if I could ask something - are the questions about key aspects of the research things that you haven't already clarified on in the write up? Or are they seeking a verbal demonstration of what you have already written, or just further elaboration?
Thanks
Congratulations on passing! Thanks for sharing this detailed info. I'm approaching my first year viva, which of course will be nothing like as intense as the final one, but this post is going to be mega helpful in my prep for that.
Hi Autumn
Really sorry to hear the tough time you are going through. It sounds like you want to quit BUT...
Thanks Drkl! Fingers crossed!
Yes. :) I think a PhD is most people's way to becoming a uni lecturer these days. I know one or two lecturers though who do not hold PhDs but have clinical expertise instead.
Are you in the middle of your MSc now? I think it is a good time to get to know what kinds of funding are available (if that is what you'd be going for), what kinds of projects are available/being funded/you find interesting, and importantly who you might do the PhD with. For me, having an academic who I wanted to work with and who was happy to support my application really helped.
Ok. My data will do fine to answer my refined questions. Just checking that there isn't some other reason why you need to start anew with data collection if the data are OK.
when I click on that link it doesn't take me to an article
I can only access the first page ) :
So did you start collecting different data because the first set of data wasn't adequate to address your new research direction?
