How to write a chapter?

J

Thanks for your encouraging post Lara! I feel better now...

L

to start off, i would suggest you look into "hierarchical cluster" analysis. and then do "single" "complete" and "average" distance measurements.

L

my pleasure.

Hi J,
One way of "speeding up" is to ask people if they would read your work. Once they agree to a date, you work towards it PDQ. What do you think?

J

Yes Hairui I do that; I have made a deadline to hand in my first draft to my Sup, this tends to get my skates on. That or stress/guilty conscience. I just wondered if most peeps did theirs in a month rather than my 3 month average... Am not in the 'writing up' stage yet - just writing before I go to fieldwork...

thanks for your help!

H

I think that time frames are arbitrary. Some chapters take hell of a long time and others are just short and sweet. You are doing the right thing by writing as you go along.
Well done.

J

Ah, thanks Hairui. I will bear in mind that it is not useful to compare chapters and chapter times because, as you say, each one is different. How silly not to have thought of this before...
