I would like to know how to apply the Butterworth filter in Excel 2010.I've been looking for 3 hours online and I was not able to find anything to help me to sorth this out with my data. I know how to use it in Matlab but my supervisors asked me to do it on Excel and they said its a straightforward formula? any idea please?

I will do my best and what the examiners asked me to do so I really hope that I can get the upgrade next time I submit my work. PhD is my dream so when I did not get the upgrade , it was like a failure for me and I was embarrased because I am really a hard worker. Again, thanks for your comment.

I know its avery difficult situation but as tru said that you should address that to your director of postgraduate study or the deputy.They will guide you to the right direction and may be they can give you an answer about why your supervisors gave your topic to other student or they will ask your supervisors about that. Dont panic you will be fine.

My supervisors apologised for not being active lately and not reading my transfer chapters before my submission. They said that they will help and read my chapters and we will try to do the examiners feedback ( the thesis panel want to make sure that my supervisors should read every single chapter) but I can not guarantee that, they are always saying something but they did the opposite.

I would like to know if you know anyone with similar situation and had the opportunity to pass the 2nd transfer? I am really worried thinking about my 2nd transfer and if I am lucky to pass or not? I did not came abroad for MPhil?? for me its a PhD failure.
I am still suffering and under shocked. I don't know what to do, and how to focus forward?

My program is a PhD program for 3 years for full-time students and after 18 months to 24 months you should do an upgrade from Mphil to PhD, each student will have 2 chances to do that if the 2nd time doesn't work , the student will have Mphil degree only!! yes I am happy with my topic and my supervisors as well and I had my research plan approved 2 years ago so this is not a problem at all, the problem now that it was shocking for me and to my supervisors that I did not get the transfer because my documnet( 6 chapters) was not approved by the examiners for the reasons mentioned above! we thought that they should see that I am working and I did my pilotwork, ready to start with my main study and have the ability to discuss my work but it seems is not convencibg enough, thats my main concern for the next transfer. I will do my best to do all their recommendations but I have my fears now.

Hi Mattfabb, thanks for the reply. Actually my writing is good they told me that in the meeting but maybe here when I tried to explain my situation , I was really nervouse and depressed so I did not bare in mind about the punctuation!

I am just worried that the delay now in my progress will affect my final study If

Thank you for your reply Treeoflife, they send the report and their recommendations were1- finalise literature review chapter. 2- shorten ch. 3 to look like a pilot work for the examiners 3- continue analysis the last experimental work to generate the unique contribution to knowledge and represent the data in my validity study. Do you think these recommendations could prevent my progress to PhD?? I will appreciate your reply and any comments from other PhD students please. all the best to you all.
