In my opinion, you could make it if you would do nothing else these 3 months apart from working for your thesis. Taking into consideration that you cannot do that, I would try to ask for an extension. To have any chance to be granted one you should explain clearly your reasons, and they should be quite serious.

PhD Interview University of Reading

Hi, I have been shortlisted for an interview for a funded PhD in Reading (Psychology). Has anyone else had an interview with this university? I know that PhD interviews vary across universities, so I was wondering whether anyone had been there. I am still to get emailed the interview process and I don't know what that could imply. I feel confident because I know the subject very well but I know there should be other factors I should start thinking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interview:) Got emailed yesterday. The comic thing is that I was checking one of my emails account while they had emailed me at the other:) And now???I haven't been in an interview before. What will happen?Any tips or anything would be much appreciated. They said they will email me again with further particularities(the interview is actually in 2 weeks). Are they going to tell me how many will be the people who will interview me? I am lost but happy:)

Ah Thank you both very much. I was myself surprised because I applied on Friday, they sent me the email after a quarter, they asked for the proposal on Monday morning and they said that they would shortlist mid may apologising for the tight timescale, as I had to write the whole thing in 2 days:) As you can understand I check my emails every 15 minutes:) I''ll let you know what happened.

Hello everybody, I have applied for a funded PhD and 15 minutes after sending my application they asked me to send a research proposal on the topic, which hadn't been asked on the post. They said it's the second part of the process, when they see that the applicant suits them. They gave me two days and I sent it in time. I asked when I should have news and they said they would shortlisting in mid may. I sent the proposal on Monday and I haven't heard back still. From your experience do you think that I should have been contacted if I was successful?Thank you
