1st BSc vs MSc Distinction

M

Hi everyone.

How does a 1st at BSc level compare with a distincation at MSc level? I'm currently well on target for a distinction which is great but I'm competing against hundreds of students at my medical school (and thousands on a national scale) for the best post after graduating. On the form we have to fill out to apply, you get a set number of points for a 1st in an intercalated BSc but as I'm the first medical student to undertake an intercalated MSc like ever I was just wondering how much above a 1st BSc is an MSc distinction?

I was told that a pass at an MSc was equivalent to a 1st BSc level and therefore a distinction would be much higher. I've tried to find out but no-one seems to know and neither does google!

Thanks in advance!
