Say you are writing a history essay which incorporates elements from the sixteenth century and elements from the twentieth. Would a document from the last 30 years which demonstrated your argument count as a primary source? In my case it would be a piece of music written ten years ago, which I want to use as an example of how modern music incorporates Renaissance philosophies. Would this count as a primary source?
