Shall I change my username?

S

you forgot Kylie

H

why is troy american?

S

Well, okay, technically it is of Greek origin, but it is a very common first name in the US. I don't think I've ever met a British Troy!

O

it's not Greek origin.

It's the English translation of the former town (ruins in Turkey) of Troia

S

Okay. I'm not a historian. You're going to tell me Helen is not Greek either now aren't you?

P

I suspect Otto is just quick with Google. Nobody knows that sort of crap off the top of his head...unless his real name it Troy? Maybe?

S

Otto could be short for Ottoman (i.e. Turkey). His name could well be Troy(assuming Otto is a he, I've never thought about it).

O

I really know this sort of crap out the top of my head as I "enjoyed" a humanistic school education including latin and greek lessons (the old greek, though).

However, Troy is as Greek as Joe or Brad Pitt is a Greek name. Hellen is actually Helena, again this is just the English translation. I better shut up now.

As H is still looking for a new username, I thought bringing this thread up would be appropriate.

P

HurrincanesHardlyeverHappen ? Too long I suspect.

P

H&M?
Aitch? How we pronounced H in the E.End
Eichi ? Japanese for H but also means a bit saucy as well.

Eichi sounds nice

H

P

S
