I would like to do a part-time PhD in the field of engineering and computer science, at the moment I am working at a company full time. In my opinion, a PhD research in the engineering and computer science would require to access some tools and measurement devices at the university and because it is a part-time PhD, this would be a problem which could face to initiate a PhD? OR someone could go to the simulation level where no tools are required?

I would like to ask those students who face such issue (part-time study with tools accessing) and to share their experiences and solutions in this thread.

Can any part-time students share their experiences? Do you get fair access to the equipment you need?

In my experience parttime students get the same access as everyone else. The only difference is they work fewer hours per week than other ft students.
