Hi,
Im thinking about self funding myself toward a PhD Corrosion / Oxidation in material engineering, i have a MSc in the same field from a high ranked university in the uk.

I can't help with regards to recommending a supervisor, but I would suggest looking on FindAPhD.com for possible funded projects:

There are a lot in the area of material engineering, and although they won't all be suitable for you, it seems like you may be able to find a funded opportunity rather than having to self fund.
