hi, i have recently completed a Masters in International Diplomacy and am looking into undertaking a PhD but would need some sort of funding. I have not found many political/politics based/politics related PhD's with funding and would be open to any advice, tips and help anyone out there could offer.

Are you looking for pre-defined PhD research projects in politics that are advertised? If so you will find that although they do exist for politics they are few and far between, and are generally a science thing.

In most politics-related field you will have to come up your own original idea for your own PhD, write a research proposal, find academics who are prepared to supervise it, and then apply and hope you are selected for funding!

XJR is totally right, there are extremely few ready-constructed PhD plans within politics. There is funding available though institutions and also ESRC etc - however I think you have just missed the ESRC deadline for this coming year.
