Funding a PhD

D

I ve just graduated from Chemical Engineering Department of Greece, and as i am looking for a Phd abroad, i have a question about Phd funding. Is is true that 4 year programm Phd is giving you salary every month? or you need to pay some extra money or tution fee? Which other programmes are there to help us financially? I ask it because my parents havent got the ability to support me financialy if i go abroad. I know about scholarships, but what it needs to gain a scholarship? Also, what needs to be acceptable in a 4 year programme? can you apply without having a master degree, or you have to gain this degree first?? Thank you in advance!!

If you get a funded position, you will get approx £14000 per year (more in London) and all fees will be paid for. Apply for EU funded positions on findaphd.com

You can apply without MSc, but you will probably need experience in the lab in this case.

My blog has a section on UK funding from the UK research councils.

http://www.wearthesis.talktalk.net (Question 7 - I'll have to reformat a couple of parts of that page for larger monitors.)

You do need to apply for a funded position and http://www.findaphd.com is the place to look.
