Hi, anyone experienced in using HPIC to determine phosphite (H3PO3) levels in plant tissues? If so would love to pick your brains regarding the protocols, methods etc used.

yes good advice ok, just started on my PhD earlier this year, got advice from the group here about referencing and I am using Endnote now -dont know how I managed before, my collection of papers etc were all over the place now it is much easier to locate them.

Hi all, I,m doing my PhD in plant sciences part time in Bristol but living and working fulltime in Ireland. Haven't met any other postgrads yet, even in Bristol! Only been on the forum here a few weeks but think its very good, got some good advice regarding referencing software from here.

Hi Daragh, good website you have there very well put together, unfortunately the only land I have is the site my house is on -half acre in Kildare, so hardly worth filling in the questionnaire. Best of luck with it!

down loaded a trial of Endnote and have been using it today, seems to be handy enough ok, will certainly save a lot of work once you get used to it. Will have to find a bargain price for next so I can keep it!
Downloaded Office 2010 professional yesterday for £39, was only looking at it at a local PC World on Sunday where it was over 400 Euro!

I'm going to give Endnote a try, downloading a 30 day trial now to see how it goes.

ye I use Onenote a lot it's handy for keeping notes and procedures etc. I have loads of papers on various subjects which I need to keep better track of, nothing as bad as reading through something wrote and then not being able to find some of the papers you referenced!
Only started the PhD this year too so have a few years still ahead of me.

Hello all,

new to here and so far finding the site very interesting and informative, I, m employed full time and doing my PhD part time and at a distance from college, so I have very little contact with other post graduates.
My enquiry is about reference management software, do any of you use it and any recommendations?

I.m doing my PhD at UWE in Bristol and they run short course on SPSS there - open to all, however the next set of courses wont be until Sept, if thats anygood for you.
