Hi B108,

Sorry you've been having a rough time applying for a PhD.

What you might find useful, is to search for PhD programmes here: http://www.findaphd.com/

Each PhD which is listed here will contain details about the PhD, the eligibility criteria required to begin that programme, as well as describing what funding is available for that course. You'll also see a 'contact us' button on each programme which allows you to contact the institution directly and maybe discuss your specific circumstances.

If you were to secure a PhD, but there was no funding associated with it, you might be interested in searching Postgraduate Funding http://www.postgraduatefunding.com/ which lists various grants.

As well as that FindAPhD have annual scholarships, awarding a top prize of £5,000 and up to 4 £500 runner up prizes, which you can apply for here: http://www.findaphd.com/funding/postgraduate-phd-scholarships/

Good luck with your search,
Nikki

Hi mestrejorge,

With PhDs the entry requirements are usually less defined that for undergraduate degrees for example.

What this means, is that you probably need to find some PhD programmes that you are interested in and then contact the institutions to discuss your particular circumstances.

On FindAPhD.com, you can search for PhD courses by keyword, area of interest or university:
http://www.findaphd.com/search/

Each of the PhD courses that are listed on this website will show what funding if any is associated with the opportunity, the eligibility criteria and also an enquiry link to contact the university directly. This might be a good way to find some courses which you are interested in, and then you could contact the university or course provider to see whether you could undertake the PhD on a part-time basis etc.

Good luck with your search,
Jorge

Congratulations Dr SL1990! You must be over the moon.

We've got a PhD album of fame on our FindAPhD Facebook page, where we are asking PhD students to share a photo of their competed thesis/post viva, or when they graduated: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.919869284723377.1073741830.162006517176328&type=3

We'd love to add another Dr to the album, so if you'd like to share a photo with us on facebook, then please do!

Enjoy your time out Dr!

Hi LostnConfused,

As Eds said, FindAMasters.com is the place to go to find Masters programmes.

There are over 2,000 Economics courses listed here: http://www.findamasters.com/search/courses.aspx?keywords=economics

If you click on a course that you are interested in, you'll see further details about the course, the entry requirements and also contact details of who to contact if you wish to apply.

Hope this helps,
Good luck with your search,

Nikki
