Good "morning" guys! I woke up an hour ago (I know I need counseling)!
I have huyge problem with spiders as well! With most of the insects to be honest! Btw, have you seen your sister today?
What statistics are you doing Jewel? Are you good at it? I may need your help
Its ok, we have at least 3 more hours of chatting
My analysis is going better now. I think I am so much more productive at night! Next step, I will tell participants that my experiments are run after midnight!
So, where did you do your masters? Did you enjoy it?
Really? You are interested? Well, it is difficult to explain it in one paragraph but it is basically a measure of discriminability/sensitivity for YES/NO responses in experimental designs where you have to say for example whether you have seen something before or not (after seeing a list of words for example). It tell us whether someone is biased to answer all the time yes or all the time no (when they are not sure) and also how difficult the task was with respect to the discriminabilty of the stimuli.
Unbelievably so! In Germany I was renting a small flat by myself for 350 euros and it was absolutely beautiful and very modern! Here I pay 400 pounds for a room!!! But I get funding from my Uni so its ok... I also get to experience my lovely flatmates: a very loud with high tamperament greek girl, a very cutte and shy little british boy (he is only 19, yet very respectful), a polish girl who gets dressed in so colourful clothes thaT i had never seen before and a scotish guy who I can never never understand what he says! In general I am very poor at picking up accents!
Sometimes I drink coffee... when its late and I HAVE to stay up. Never for pleasure...
Thats ok! For me tomorrow means today. I will be in the same desk reading the same draft over and over...
I just noticed. You are English and you drink coffee! Amazing! I started a kind of "healthy living", eating cheese puffs(?) (first time after I was in the kindergarden) and drinking innocent smoothies (mmmm I love them! Both )
Do you live alone, with friends, family, sister, flatmates?
Ahh, thanks. I wish my supervisor had the same feelings as you about what I am going through at the moment!
All out of a sudden I have to do a "signal detection analysis" which I had never heard of before, so I got myself a huge book from the library (what a treat!) which will give me a HINT (according to my supervisor) of what I have to do! My data are also in a very complex form and I have to make a million changes in Excel before I can use them in the analysis!
Yes, go and get a coffee... relax...show me some photos and preferably stay up all night to keep me company I am soooo bored!
Yes, and concentrate less on my project
I hate results sections! I think I will hire a statistician for this part of my thesis. And a programmer to set up the experiments and maybe an undergrad to run the experiments! Tha would be great! Although I think I would end up with a PhD in management instead
How is England doing btw?
