Hello everyone!
I've not been around in ages but at uni today so to sort a few loose ends and chase up my viva date! I'm taking this opportunity to do some work on my papers as well so today shall be a study day for me.
Goals for today:
1) Speak to admin staff
2) Chase up viva date
3) Review article
4) Make any required amendments
5) Have lunch with one of my peers so we can catch up on the goss lol
Have a productive day all!
Sounds like you're on the right track there with all the advice already given.
On a more practical side, I was just wondering if you could tell yourself that this is not the final thing. This way you'd be 'giving yourself permission' to leave it unfinished knowing that you'll be able to come back afterwards. You could make notes about any important points you may wish to add at a later date (or anything that you may think of later) so you don't forget as well. Just a suggestion...
Good luck!
I would like to help but I'm from a completely different field and I have no idea what you really need. I'm guessing it's articles ?? If this is so, it would be very helpful if you could provide us with the full references... or maybe clarify what type of source is required?? thanks
Maybe she's just a little disappointed because you're not going to have time to prepare?? I can't see why she's upset with you but I see the phd as a means to an end so the only thing for you to do, in my opinion, is to move on. You've explained and apologised, she's still sulking (by the sounds of it!), so maybe it's her issue and not yours? Please don't feel awful, you took the decision that you thought it was best, we all make mistakes and most of us will make a decision that challenges our sup at some point, all part of the process:-)
