Like Pam - tea all day then wine in the evening. No wonder I find working at night so hard.
My weakness, which is rationed, is all kinds of crisps but especially cheese & onion, and corn onion rings. Blue cheese and crackers, salami, pickles. Did I mention wine?
Not feeling up to fiction but I'll tell you waht happened.
Well we have the flap on 'out only' much to our tabbies' disgust - and they're just locked in at night. I established that it was indeed Evil Fuzzy who was spraying in the house and not my big tabby. I am now posessed by the smell of cat pee and imagine it everywhere. We're also about to try and sell our house - won't do to have Evil Fuzzy pee wafting around.
I am gearing up to going round to Evil Fuzzy's people and demanding that he be neutered.
Would it help to use a bibiographical software package like Endnote? You could store your refs with quotes and key words (I use abstracts and key words). Then you have various ways of searching and grouping. I am drowning in refs and wouldn't know what I've got or read without my electronic library.
Well I just finished Ben Elton's 'Bind Faith' which I enjoyed. It's a pretty dark satire though and probably only to be enjoyed by the atheists among us. I found it quite cathartic, as it refers to so many really irritating (to me) facets of modern culture.
Now I'm reading some science fiction - Stephen Baxter 'Transcendent' - 3rd in a series.
It's unusual for a lab-based PhD where funding is tightly linked to large-scale projects. It is normal in other areas though and for experimental projects that do not cost zillions that will be down the toilet if you are wrong (in that case supervisors are usually very keen to see what you are up to).
I definitely have an effective disorder.
I heard about vinegar - but white vinegar especially which I don't have. I stopped by the vet and they recommend washing with tonic water - apparently the quinine works on the smell. And I've got some bio washing powder that I normally never use for other stuff. They said I should lock them in for a week. They'll just love that.
I just cannot stand this smell aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I can't work with this smell - everything must stop until I have restored odour.
And I have a ton of essays to mark for tomorrow and notes to prepare.
What is a black light???
