Studentship and Scholarship

G

Who could tell me what is the difference between studentship and scholarship.Thank you very much.

They are the same I think. Although, the term 'studentship' to me implies that the money would be in-line with the standard amount of offered per year to a PhD student. Whereas, scholarship values sometimes might be a bit more generous. This is just guess-work though and I could be completely wrong of course.

There is no strict definition to separate either term and in many circumstances they mean the same thing. However in the UK generally a studentship covers course fees and living expences, but may only be available to home students. Scholarships may be supplemental to a studentship or instead of one. They may only cover some or all of the course fees but not living expences.
