All the problems I currently have to do with my PhD can be traced back to computers! I love them (for going on facebook and other sites to time waste!) and hate them (mainly cos they don't do what I want and I don't know how to make them!)

Anyone else got something to blame their problems on?
Or some stories about computers, preferably ones that involve them flying out of 7th floor windows!

I don't hate computers.. but I do hate my laptop.. its crap and I want a new one!

I think alot of problems are because they renamed marathon bars to snickers!

Eight years ago, I got 2 grand into me back burner and a Les Paul guitar (which I will master some day!) protecting ye lot as ye got pished bringing in the 21st century ... god knows ye were screwed if anything did go belly up!

Imagine if you will, the setting is CERN, Switzerland/France (location depending on whether its a success or huge failure). They are just about to bring the two particle beams together when ... "Illegal Operation: Your PC requires a restart. All applications will be closed" pops up on the screen of the main controller ... now that would be funny!

It'd be even funnier if at that moment Vista was to display one of its "catastrophic error" screens. For once, it might be very apt!

I totally agree.. They will forever be opal fruits to me!

I also didn't like the switch from Thurstons to Greggs.. Not sure what the game was there!

I would be shocked to find out that they used Windows at all let alone vista :-o

Well they are 100m underground so they probably aren't using Windows ... yeah, yeah I know, I've got my jacket already - TAXI!!

Just hope that the results of this lead to practical solutions and not just make more money for the arms industry in the future (before anyone says I'm paranoid or nuts, which incidentally I am, it was with noble intentions that nuclear research was initiated)

And as for the whole Snickers debate, what about the whole Starbar/Moro fiasco? And Wispa ?

I didn't know about the star bar thing.. you can still get star bars

Wispas made a brief return earlier this year but didn't stay long.. but you can get wispa mcflurries at mcdonnalds at the moment

What ever happened to Spiras? They came out around the same time as Twirls but I havent seen them for ages

I thought that Starbars were replaced by Peanut Moro? It was good to see the return of Catch bar though!

i have recently deactivated my facebook account having decided that my life is worth keeping under wraps... somehow felt invaded by all sorts of ghosts. I definitely won't be going back to it!(up)

luckily (for the computer) the office windows don't open! Computer at home behaving itself more since I hoovered the cat hair out the fan! maybe I should hate cats instead?!

Anyway you'll prboby hate me for this one but I don't have a problem with marathon being snickers. I quite like the way it sounds "snickers, snickers, snickers!"
