Some concerns about PhD

G

Hi to all!!! I am thinking to quit my actual job for persuing a PhD in DSP(Digital Signal Processing). I have some concerns about this. Am I too old for this? I am 33. Is there a good job market for this kind of Phds?

Cheers

Search the forum for things like 'old' or 'age' or 'ageism'. There's a few threads which should be of interest to you.

you should definitely takeup Ph.D if you really love to do one esp DSP is a wonderful area both academically and commercially.Although I am not an Engineering student I have heard about it

Do it mate! At least when you die, it's gonna be Dr. Luigi on your headstone, instead of Mr. Luiqi. plus, I've seen many over 30s conducting Phd right now. I sometimes think conducting a Ph.D requires certain maturism. Best Wishes!

Go for it! I'm only a year younger than you am just finishing my first year. I also feel you need a little 'life experience' to start a PhD, as you can manage your time better. I see some younger students running around every day, coming in weekends etc whereas I can happily do my work in the day and have the weekends to relax a little. (Older students tend to have more of a personal life going on, mortgages etc!)
