Here is an excerpt from the Wiley site:

"Except as provided above, Authorized Users may not copy, distribute, transmit or otherwise reproduce, sell or resell material from Electronic Products (s); store such material in any form or medium in a retrieval system; download and/or store an entire issue of a Electronic Product or its equivalent; or transmit such material, directly or indirectly, for use in any paid service such as document delivery or list serve, or for use by any information brokerage or for systematic distribution, whether or not for commercial or non-profit use or for a fee or free of charge. "

Downloading and sending papers to other people seems to be copyright infringement, or in other words, piracy.

I am wondering why administrators allow people continuously to breach the law (and the forum rules).

I think we're going to need to build some much bigger gaols (traditional English spelling) then. My supervisors are going to prison, some of the original authors that sent me their papers are going to prison, most of the people I know are going to prison and, as for me, me...[gulp]...I think I can hear cries of 'bring back the death sentence!' Oh, and can you put a university in prison? Because one of them very kindly sent me a collection of photocopied papers for my research. It seems that everyone is breaking the law these days - I'm off to spew bile on the Daily Mail forum! :-)

flip flops for sure Satchi, I heard prison's like a holiday camp, although maybe that was on the Daily Mail site, when I went over to try and stop Walminski from procrastinating.

My guess is because research and academia in general is about the freedom of ideas and information. And that without people like us reading papers from their journals, citing them, building on them and submitting our own the journals would cease to have any impact, or...make money at all! :p

Well I for one won't be rushing to offer Eskobastion any advice since s/he well and truly rapped my knuckles. Am just waiting for the day when s/he is desparate for a paper which i have (or even one that one of us has written).:p
