its more of a 'gain insight' kind of sentence. I like 'shed light' but scared its not academic enough.?????????????????????

Scholar Y balanced the conversation around topic Y..

The future research agenda needs to draw out the complexities in issue X...

My work seeks to make sense of problem Y by keeping blah and blah in the same frame....
