Hi everyone, I applied for a UK civil service job but didn't get the initial position. However, it wasn't framed as a rejection - they said that they are pleased to say i performed well that I passed the interview and have put me on the reserve list. They say they hope to employ me in the next 6 months. Do you think I have much chance of getting a job?

It's impossible to say..... I work in the Civil Service. We are making huge cuts at some grades but expanding in others as responsibility and workload is pushed down to lower grades but that's just one department, others maybe different! Keeping you on hold though is better than starting a new recruitment campaign which is expensive and time consuming.
