I'm a 3rd yr biological sciences student and hopefully taking immunology honors. i'm hoping to do a PhD in immunology but would like to take a year out to go travelling once i graduate. has anyone done this or is it better to go straight into a PhD or masters? as yet i have no research lab experience outside of my course (am trying to find some for the summer, but no luck so far). would it best for me to do a masters first to gain some more lab experience in a research environment?

Hi, I thought it would be best to do a masters to get some experience before doing a PhD but found it not worth the bother because I have found thatthey are looking for someone with a good batchelors rather than someone with a good BSc and a MSc.
