PhD. in Religious Studies and History

A

Hello,

my name is Andrej, and I am looking for a good PhD. in Religious Studies. I already have 3 M.A.'a - in Economics, Archaeology, and Comparative Religions, and this year I'll hopefully finish my PhD. in Archaeology. Since I would like to expand my expertise, I would like to pursue also a PhD. in Comparative Religions, with my specialization "the evolution of the idea of death, dying and funeral rites". I know that my field of expertise is somehow specific, and there are not that many academic thanatologists out there, but I can at least give it a try:)
I don't mind any country, I just would like to work with people who would influence me and through whom I could gain new knowledge and insight. So if anyone knows about a university that would be specializing on something similar, or if their own department would be looking for new colleagues, please let me know:)

thanks a lot and have a nice day

Andrej

Why do you want to do a second PhD? What is your ultimate career goal?

A

My ultimate goal? To know as much as possible from my field of interest/expertise, do my research, publish articles, give lectures...approximately something similar I do at the time, but at a larger, and even more professional extend.
You see, I have my own small company, so I don't study for the sake of the scholarship, but purely because I would like to know more and improve myself. I have been studying on universities for the past 15 years, and the more I study, the more I wish to know. And to archive that, I would like to work with the best professionals out there because self study at home is one thing, but to be in the center, where all the interesting and inspiring things are happening is something different.

Ok, so why not try to find an academic position rather than doing another PhD?

While you're in the academic position that TreeofLife suggests, you could write lots of research articles (80-120) and go for a DLitt or DD.
