this thread is great, killed at least 15min reading it all!!
FindaPhD Team...how long did the thread with over 200 replies go on for??

G

Hurrahhh!!! Passed viva today!!! Can't believe it!!! FindAPhD team - do I have to wait until I have submitted the case bound thesis to the post grad office before I can select 'academic' status, rather than 'student'?!! ;o)

Cat - the thread with over 200 messages was deleted to make more room for this one - also it was just a list of people asking for funding that nobody replied to.

Congratulations Ann, but until you get a job you're just going to have to use 'other'. Don't know if we've mentioned this before, but thanks for all your posts - you save us a lot of typing.

G

Well done Ann! But look, you can select "An academic" without actually being one, unless of course there is censorship on this forum. But I cant imagine thats FindAPhDTeam's style?!

G

My query was only tongue-in-cheek, a rose by any other name etc..! [I do have a 'post-doc' job though, been working as one for past year :o)] Glad to have helped FAP team, many thanks for running the message boards!

Thanks for the congrats Wickid! How is your thesis writing going?

G

Thesis?!

G

New to this forum. Nice to win something on my first time, thanks!

Here's some ideas for themes to get you started:

If you've got time to waste reading this thread then you've got plenty of time for our PhD writing competition.

We're expanding the 'PhD Life' section of FindAPhD and we want the experiences of current and former PhD students to fill it. If you're looking for a distraction from a morning in the archives or an afternoon counting red eyed flies then why not jot down some of your PhD experiences for the benefit of those who'd like to follow in your footsteps.

We're after interesting, informative and/or humorous pieces of between 250 and 1000 words. There's a £15 Amazon voucher for any that we publish on the site and a £50 Amazon voucher for the best one. All the decisions are down to us and our decision will be final. Articles must be all you own work and must not be published elsewhere.

G

Hey! The cheek!!
But [email protected], you've inspired me to write an article for you. Gonna entitle it "Being a winner", check your email

DJW your masterpeice still hasn't arrived - just imagine how much better your set would be when you spend your £15 voucher wisely on some top tunes

G

Nice CD! You can avoid the delivery charge if you buy the second volume too! :oD

G

You guessed the kind of DJ I am - wickid!! As for the article ... it's a bit like my thesis, lots of good intentions, but theres not enough time in the day! Soz, but you can give me the £50 prize anyway, just for being the Winner on this thread?

G

Never won anything before. Maybe this is my lucky day .......

G

No it ain't...
