I am a Post graduate in Microbiology. I am interested in pursuing PhD. PhD opportunities are there but finding Funding is the major problem. Though I have a research experience of 3 years its very hard for me to get funding. I want to know more about the funding and critei\rias for obtaining funding.

I was asking the same thing! But apparently there are no criteria for selection, only the usual!... therefore there is nothing we can do to make ourself stand up from the crowd. The only thing to do is write to as many people as possible!I wish a good luck with your reasearch, I am sure that you will find something, microbilogy is a very hot topic!!good luck

Obtaining funding can be very difficult for many overseas students. Our Funding pages are a good place to start. We do not recommend writing to as many academics as possible. It is a waste of your time, as well as theirs. You should only contact individual academics if you have a strong interest in their research and very relevant research experience. Merely writing to every microbiology lab you can find will do you know good - academics receive many such emails every day and usually do not even have time to reply.
