Can't you use the content for a title e.g. instead of Lit Review "Narrative Analysis" or whatever the review is about.
Your mum is right! But I wouldn't change a quote unless you can get away with only quoting a bit of it and putting the rest in square brackets in some way.
:-x:-x:-x Congratulations Keenbean!
Are you sure you have to pay full fees? I won't have funding after 3 years either and have been told that if I have a full draft completed I can go on to nominal fees which are "only" a few hundred pounds. Will make a big difference.
I finally invested in a pedal to help this week. A bit pricey but it makes it so much easier!
I have just had my upgrade and I didn't pass outright. I have another two months to submit more material before they decide. To be honest, I completely agree as I didn't have enough data prepared but ran out of time. They were very complimentary about what I had done though. I felt fine about this until I started asking around and everyone else seems to have been upgraded immediately. Please tell me I am not the only one!
I got a book out the library which had the word language in the title - except it was spelt "lanuguage" on the spine. :p Bet there were a few groans when they saw that!
Congratulations!
I don't really understand why you have to be cut off from the world while writing up. I am writing up as I go and I don't feel cut off. If you think it is not good for you to isolate yourself then don't do it! You will still be able to complete it without writing 12 hours a day. It would be such a shame to quit now.
No, but I did get up at 3.30 with a screamy child and after an hour of settling her decided that I was awake enough to get some work done. Problem is that now I feel like going to sleep and it's time to get up!
Yes and I have even deleted the source from the library but it still appears in the bibliography! I love Mendeley but sometimes it just makes me :-s:-s
Thanks, I have tried that but it didn't work.
Hi all. I have a rogue reference in my Mendeley bibliography. I have a reference to a source that I have deleted -any idea how to remove it from the references in my word doc? Thanks!
Hi - I don't know what to advise but I just want to send you lots of sympathy! I am finding it so hard at the moment. One of my children always seems to be ill and it completely drains you as you end up having to try and catch up on sleep and work at the same time! :p I am also thinking of coming clean to my supervisor over how little work I am managing to get done - my babysitter has just changed jobs and can't work anymore and I have just found out that my twins didn't get a place at nursery (and we applied for 8!) so I have no idea how I am going to get things done next year. Anyway, that doesn't help you much does it? But I think anyone who thinks it is hard doing a PhD hasn't attempted one with kids!! BTW Dunni - if you are still reading, you are an inspiration. Every time I think I can't see how I am going to finish this with the twins in tow I think of you!!!
Reliable childcare by which I mean a nursery that I can afford, rather than a babysitter who comes round to our house (which we did this year and it didn't really work as I work from home) and that I am 100% happy with so I am not thinking about them and worrying all the time. Also one that covers all the hours I need to work so that I don't have to catch up at night. But we haven't managed to get a nursery place for next year either so it's just a dream....:-(
