Canadians studying in Abroad

L

I am a Master's student studying in South Africa and a Canadian citizen. As such I do not qualify for any funding from the South African government or African financed post graduate scholarships (that I can find). I also do not qualify for most of the Canadian scholarships as I am not enrolled in a Canadian university. I was wondering if anyone could help me as I have zero funding and would like to find at least some. Any help is welcome! Thanks.

This is predominantly a UK based forum Lindsey. You'd do better finding the equivalent in either of the aforementioned countries to get a more informed opinion.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately I can't find anything like this based in Canada. Apparently we are not as into trying to help each other as people in the UK :)

In my masters year, my friend (canadian) had some money to help pay towards her fees from the government but I don't know how or why?

H

That's the Canadian government.

Thanks for your reply H. do you know where your friend was studying?

here in the UK for the masters

I can only recommend looking into the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship - might be a resource. If you do decide to pursue postgraduate study in the UK - www.postgrad.com/forums is a useful sight for researching programs over here. Good luck (I know how hard/impossible it is to find funding)
