PhD - so confused - medicine,PhD,MSc ?? :(

G

I’m in 3rd Year BSc Pharmacology. I am confident that I will succeed in getting a 2:1 which they ask for but if I slip and get a high 2:2 what happens then? do I apply for an MSc or MRes first? Or directly for PhD as I feel my BSc has already given me sufficient specialization and would a MSc actually benefit me? if I have a slight doubt about a 2:1 is it easier to get on an MSc and apply for that as caution & stepping stone to PhD ? Thanks Sharesmad

If you don't get a 2(i) you will need to do a Masters degree before you can apply for a PhD - you may think you're qualified enough, but others won't. If you are considering PhD research you should be aiming to achieve a high 2(i).

I notice that you have medicine in the subject. I thought about this after my degree, make sure you do some work experience. I did and realised that medicine wasn't for me. Instead I'm doing a PhD (which by the way is an equally big mistake).
