PhD vs DBA

G

I have completed an MBA at a US school and would like to move on to a doctorate. Can any one advise me regarding the benefits of going for a PhD versus a DBA (doctor of business administration)? My plan is to teach at university level or consult. Thanks.

I personally think doing a PhD is more beneficial than conducting a DBA, but, of course, it depends on which business school you applying to, as well as which region of the world you wish to study in. For example, a European PhD might be very different compared with an American PhD and choosing between PhD and DBA also depends on your research interests, supervisor, experiences and background. May be you should consult a professional careers advisor, or try to get in contact with both a PhD as well as a DBA candidate in your intended destination.
