Searching a PhD in marine sciences

B

I am a Master graduate in Biological Oceanography from the IFM in Kiel, Germany (and SDU in Odense, Denmark) and am looking for a PhD opportunity in the marine sciences. My interests broadly range accross fisheries biology, coastal ecology, deep sea research, marine microbiology and marine mammal biology. I'm not picky on where this PhD may be, but I need it to be funded. I have international experience and am seaworthy. Presently I am finding it difficult to find a position without needing any previous field experience in a specific field, especially here in Germany. I am open to any opportunities and suggestions. Thanks

I guess i ahve a similar problem, I have searched a lot for PhD in marine biology in Germany and to my utter disappointment i find that there is no such opportunity here. Perhaps you should look into USA or Canada as there are a lot of opportunities in this field over there.

That was just a suggestion!!

Good Luck

Thank you HadiaMahmood! Its good to hear that someone is in the same situation. I already thought of going into an international search, and what you are saying reinforces that idea. Thanks!

Hello,
I am marine biologist (ecotoxicologist), I obtained my master degree in Italy (ancona) and now I am a Ph.D. student in uk.
I give you this link. It is the website of the Marine science departement of my ex university in italy. If you click on link on the left of the website you will find a lot of links related to marine research centers all over the world. (there is also the english version)
