Feeling a bit deflated

A

Hi sorry if this isn't appropriate to post here, I don't really know where else to go to get advice. Just a bit of background: I'm currently doing a 4 year integrated masters undergrad in the UK. (MMath)

I was just wondering, does it matter if you weren't one of the top students on your course during your undergrad? Is it possible to still do a phd and do well in it?

Many people on here have got 2.1s and some have 2.2s and have gone on to do a PhD. A PhD requires a particular set of skills and just because you are a good undergrad doesn't mean you will make a good PhD student.
