Funding for PhD in biblical studies

F

Hi! Appreciate if anyone out there is familiar with the field of biblical studies and where/to whom I can look for funding. I am a female first year PhD student in University of Edinburgh, going into the second year, from Singapore. Chinese in race. Is there an avenue of funding for female Asians? I have tried practically all available scholarships in general category but to no avail, probably due to the fierce competition and the unpopular field I am working on. So let me know if you know of some more restricted categories of funding that I can be eligible for. Thanks.

Hi Faith, I am doing a course in Singapore in Biblical studies. Wish to consult you on further studies in this field overseas. Would like to know if you mind keeping in touch.

Hello Faith,

I've come across this, see if it would help in any way.

Best wishes.

Hi Faith, try IFUW www.ifuw.org for women research students. Also try ORS as it is the most popular source for overseas research students. Being overseas is quite disadvantageous in the UK academic world. Have you thought of applying for an American University and trasnfer your PhD there?

Hi believer, please contact me at faithlsn@yahoo.co.uk for more information on study in UK.
To the rest who suggested various sources of funds, thank you. Please let me know if there are others for the academic year 07/08 (I know it is sought of late). I am Singapore citizen, so not eligible for one suggested for China students, and as I am going into the third year (for a 3+1 year course), I am not too sure if I can apply for the IFUW scholarship. At this stage, I am uncertain if I would need to extend study into the fourth year. Could I apply for it, even if I am not too sure how long the thesis will take? Chances are that I would need more than 3 years to complete the thesis.
