I take 6 weeks off plus about 10 days around christmas every year. I take three weeks in the summer and join the other three weeks with christmas holidays. I think holiday is a right and you shouldn't feel guilty. Besides you are just in your first year and you would probably become busier later. PhD is a long journey, you need to take some break.
I am not a direct user of Mac but I am a bit familiar as some from my family use Macs. As far as I know there is no MS office picture manager in the Macs. You can e-mail the pictures to yourself. On the mail window there should be a list for the image size option and choose the resolution to compress them.

Why can't I access the forum by www.postgraduateforum.com since yesterday? It gives "under construction" message. Now I entered the forum from history by http://www.postgraduateforum.com/forum.aspx.
It is usually in the introduction. In some other countries there is sub section as the statement of the problem or the objectives. By the way you should clearly state the problem (or the question). So try to highlight it using the "problem" or "question" as it is the first thing a reader looks at. The objective of your thesis is to solve (tackle) this problem. Hypothesis comes just after the statement of the problem. It is your guess - prediction - about the likely solution of your problem.
Hi,
My neighbour got a cat a few months ago and it enters in my flat every time it finds an open door and window. I couldn't stop it doing this and I don't want to keep the windows close always. I already spoke with my neighbour and nothing changed. It entered two times today and I am very annoyed with the situation as I don't like animals inside the house and have to clean after. I discussed with her tonight, even if I like her, as I was very angry . I don't know what to do. Any advice how to deal with this?
