Hello,
Please anyone has access to this book review

Thank you very much Pjlu!! I have already started doubting myself, particularly after I read the recommendation letter my friend's supervisor wrote for him. I got high grade in my PhD degree and passed the viva with minor corrections and the jury were very positive, but sitting at home for two years doing nothing except taking care of my small kids has affected my view of myself π.
Can I write a general recommendation letter starts with "to whom it may concerned"?
Thank you very much for your replies.. Treeoflife, you are right, it is very difficult to write it from my perspective. I do not know how to describe myself. I think she is, as a supervisor, who can say what are my positive points. Her reply makes me very sad, if she does not have one hour to write a recommendation letter for me, how the other professors would have 5 minutes to read my emails and consider my CV for a postdoc.
Hi there,
I definded my thesis on refugee law two years ago and published it as a book. I did not seaech for work the first year after my PhD because I have small twina. I have been in job search process for one year now without any result. I asked my supervisor to write a recommendation letter for me hoping this would support my profile. As my supervisor is very busy, she asked me to make a draft of the letter. In fact, I have no idea what to write in it, any advice is very wellcomed π thank you in advance
Hi there,
I defended my Phd thesis in refugee law in May 2015 and successfully passed with high grades. I published my thesis as a book with a famous publisher in June 2016. Since then I haven't do anything. I have 3 years old twins who take all my time and energy. I am happy to be with them during their early childhood but what about my Phd? I haven't applied to any job for many reasons. English is not my mother tongue. I did my Phd and defended it in English but I am still not fluent. I don't have confident to do an interview in English. The kindergarten system in the country where I live is bad. My kids have been accepted only for 3 days a week and only 4 hours each day. There is private kindergarten but very expensive. We are supposed to move to our country next year because of my husband's work. Now, I have two possible options: 1. move with him to our country and try to find a job there. 2. Apply for a postdoc and stay in Europe with my kids. The two options are not easy.
I am in the same situation. I defended my PhD in May 2015 and still unemployed. I havn't applied to any job because I have 3 years old twins. I live in Switzerland and the system of kindergarten here is awful. My kids have been accepted only for three days a week and 4 hours a day. I don't have any relatives here and cannot cover the day-care cost.
Hi there,
I had my doctoral degree in 2015 and have published my thesis as a book four months ago. My main interest is refugee and human rights issues. I am still without job because I have small twins. Next year my kids will be in school so I am thinking about doing postdoctoral. Does anyone know about a postdoctoral scholarship in law in any University in Europe? I would be happy to hear your experience in postdoctora?
Regards
Emma
Congratulations on submitting and well done. I defended my thesis last year. I also had twins during my PhD, changed five contries because of my husband's job, several time we almost reached to divorce the last one when I was in my country to finish writting and my mother take care of my 7 months twin. Those were very difficult years but I could did it. Mums can do everything
Goood luck
