thought it might be nice to post something positive - I just learnt that I have been upgraded and officially am now registered for a PhD- so two more years of funding left - way to go:)

Congrats AnnieG, PhD candidate, you must be so happy and will surely be celebrating this week-end! Any advise for those of us who still have to make it through to the second year?

Year 1 is a walk in the park. It's years 2+3(+4) that give you permanent head damage. Prepare yourself for twice the workload.

Well done though. Passing the viva at the end is how you feel now x10, so worth working hard for. Keep it up. Keep smiling.
