Hi! I am searching for a PhD studentship in molecular biology. I am aware that it is late but still have some hope to get some for present year. How long one have to wait for an answer from project supervisor after application? I have sent mine last week. I am not sure if I should treat my applications as ingnored or I am just impatient? Maybe it's because my email at Yahoo?

im not an expert but i would say you have left it too late as most of the commities have all but decided on who is going to study, although i have heard that some PhD courses can start in Jan too, plus you can always apply for next year

No, some of us supervisors are still looking for quality students, fear not! (our project's not mol bio though, sorry). A week isn't long so don't worry. No harm in sending an e-mail saying that you hope application was received and looking forward to hearing from them.
