Part-time PhD

G

Hi All,
I originally did a diploma in Electronics and recently acquired an Executive MBA. I am very interested in doing a part-time PhD, funding it myself while I am working. Do you think the diploma, rather than a primary degree , will cause me any problem? I gained a first class honour with the MBA.

Thanks
Alan.

As a self funded student you may find it easier than you would otherwise. I am not sure whether the lack of a first degree would stop you registering for a PhD. It may be down to the discression of the university you apply to. Find an academic who works in the area of research that you are interested in and see if they are willing to take you on.

Hi Alan,

How is the part-time PhD coming along? It's a long process but you'll get there eventually...
