PhD in foreign country

G

I am a Portuguese student and I’m going to finish my degree with a grade of 15/20. To get a PhD here with "15" is very hard.

Realistically speaking, is it possible for me to apply for PhDs in foreign countries? I think I can be as good or even better in doing a PhD in bioinformatics as a student with a 16 or even 17.

I really want to pursue a career in bioinformatics (I finally found what I really like :) but I’d like some pointers to whether it is feasible to get a PhD.

apply to the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and you won't go wrong. It's the best instution for Bioinformatics and the reserach team is lead by a world renowned bionformaticist for the States

Hi Bruno

If you are interested in pursuing your research in South Africa I'd recommend the Univesity of the Western Cape. Their URL adress is www.uwc.ac.za. The department is called SANBI and the research is multi-disciplinary. A friend of mine has recently graduated from the institute and is now working in the States. Good luck..........

I have a BSc in Maths and Info Systems, and an MSc in International Management. I am currently working as a project analyst, but I am very keen to pursue a PhD in the areas of management (esp emerging management techniques in IT/Telecomms in developing countries ). I want to pursue this in the States and have some travel included in this. How do I go about this? And I can only do this if I get full funding and some 'help' towards living costs. Anyone have any ideas?
