Hello everybody!! I have two interviews coming up in the next two weeks and i am after some good sound advice about what to expect. I appreciate that they are all different but they are essentially variations on a theme surely. I am particularly interested to hear from people with advice on 'panel' interviews, as both my interviews will be in front of quite large panels. Thanks people.
First of all congratulations for being selected for the interview. Look them in the eye as you answer them. There will be male and female interviewers in the panel and I'll suggest that you don't pay particular attention to only one gender. This can be intimidating but be yourself and try to accommodate all of them equally. If there is a tricky question ask to tackle it at a later stage Most importantly know what you wrote in your CV and do a thorough background check on the companies/field you applying for....... Good luck
Cheers people!!! I forgot to mention that they are both PhD interviews - not job interviews.
Thandi - lol at your suggestion to not pay attention to one particularl gender. Easier said than done if one of them is a bit tasty eh?? Me thinks that is very, very unlikely.
Thanks for the congrats, its been extremely hard work to get these interviews as they are both 5* and both have excellent reputations. Im just trying to keep cool.
Well, interview number one out the way and it was an absolute nightmare. Essentially, it was a 1 viva, and i was torn to pieces.
You think you are pretty smart, and within an hour, you wonder what the hell you have been doing for the last four years cos you feel like you know nothing!!!
