Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could explain how I should tackle this equation:

F(DFhyp, DFerr) = chisquare/DFhyp

I know I need to multiply F by whats in the brackets but I don't know what the comma means between DFhyp and DFerr. Im hoping it's something really simple!!!

Hey Buttercup,

Don't multiply what's in the brackets, that's just a reference to some characteristics of your data. In the brackets, substitute DFhyp with the degrees of freedom for your variable, and substitute DFerr with the degrees of freedom for the error - these values should be in the output of whatever stats package you're using.
e.g. if DFhyp=2 and DFerr=29, write "F(2,29)=..."

What im trying to do is convert (using that equation) the F ratio into chisquare - is that straight forward? My minds at a blank!!
