ooh,

I've just used pervasive

Now I've got to check that it means what I think it means :$

N

Pervasive is one of my favourites, I'm trying to fine tune my grammar at the moment so learning how to use 'whilst' as apparantly that's better than some alternatives. Also I've been told to use 'this' less.

C

To "recapitulate"

T

phrase not word but I like...

"when one considers"

(very queenly I feel)

pertinent?? my research informs a pertinent question

N

The use of these words recently has amused me greatly in my writing up:

conundrum
bombast
credence

and others, all far too pretentious but highly amusing....

W

Stupefaction

P

i've found plethora, dearth, and paucity are good ways of saying 'there's a lot of' or 'there's not a lot of' whilst making it sound more intelligent and academic!
