This budget is only for the Elite class. Why we cannot implement a taxation system like Denmark rather than stealing bread and butter from the average Briton. There should be a rising taxation band tied to the income.
I hate these wolves in sheep's clothing.
I remember there were a few friends who got an aggregate between 57-59.9%. The classification rule at their university was to award a 2:1 if they have 5 modules above 65% and 2 above 70% in whole 4 year course.
Check this out at your university web pages...or the academic responsible for this.

Is anyone else fed to the teeth with those smarmy lists online "How to finish your Ph.D."? With advice like "write up as you go along" and "make a detailed plan at the start of your Ph.D." or even - love this - "make sure your supervisor is capable before you accept the project". If any of these applied, we wouldn't be looking at these ******* lists in the first place!
I have not met a single, solitary Ph.D. student who has used these lists. Not _one_. I can't shake the feeling that this is the writer's vicarious wish of what he wished he had done...
If you have rented your property through a High Street Agent, law depicts the rating of your property based on energy conservations and producing GHG. What was your house rating? I have not seen any property with a rating less than 20. It could be regenerative if its below 0....;-)
Beta blockers or other drugs like this have always some kind of side effects. It is a shame that informal usage of such drugs is becoming a fashion. Go for healthy diets, do exercise and accept the fact that you are only a student so there could be some weaknesses in your work/presentation. Avoid drugs at all for just confidence boosting measures. Health is more important than fame/money?
I think at PhD level, you could be the best judge yourself. Look into the potential supervisors homepages and develop an idea about their involvement/interest in the topic of your research. And how serious they are in their duties as research advisers. Send them emails and ask for some technical help and see who helps you most... The general rating of an academic institution may not reflect the true potential of a supervisor
From the experience in the last few months gained at this forum, I can dare to say that people who quit, and terrified by this beast do return later at some point in their lives and the confrontation becomes more dramatic and volatile. So get out all your weaponry now and beat the s*** outta this.
From the Evidence Presented Above this guy certainly seems belonging to a Specific Class of Bullies. Do not give him more fuel and will subsequently burn itself out. Their fuel is when someone gets intimidated and looks confused. Next time if that happens just tell him to go to the common room for the French conversation as this is sort of disturbing you...and give you the necessary breathing space.
A post doc is in no way superior...nor is the supervisor. Take your stand and sort out your own priorities towards a successful project.
A real Intellectual Person would never leave a destructive feedback. Such a person could be a Bully,Insecure and Selfish person who could be there just for monetarily gains. A real academic likes constructive criticism and understands the fact that learning is a life long process....Ignore Idiots like that and do not let a crawler like that to break your will power....
I can only advise that if you are going for a Masters then a Research Masters like an Mphil (compared to an MSC) could a better option if someone wants to pursue an academic/research career. If I am not mistaken, you can extend your Mphil to PhD within 1.5 years....
I think it won't be unreasonable for the PGF administration to charge for these items after keeping free membership policy at this forum.
I will be happy to pay for a few items with PGF logos on as my writing may not be of that high professional standard as many demand...I do not want to enter into any time consuming competition but am willing to purchase for future to keep these PhD memories alive...Do you agree that these should be available for purchase?
It's certainly not my job to Judge a thread based on the issue whether somebody has dodged an advertisement fee, but, I found it less time wasting and abusive of the rules than many recent posts with crafted & manipulative wordings and without any meaningful objective. At least, I am not interested in learning about someones erection problems or whether they get a PhD from Belford or Smelford. Sorry to say that, but I am here in this forum only to learn from positive experiences of others. It seems we are running out of wisdom or we are avoiding to share this with everyone else.
