Gosh it's gone quiet!

Where is everyone today? I'm mainly reading today but thought I'd pop on and say hello - hope everyone's work is going well!

Sounds fabulous! I admit I am scared of life after PhD, but it just goes to show, you never know in which direction life will take you! Well done you! I love finding out where people go, and what they do after graduation! (up)

Analysing survey data - help!

I'm not sure if I've totally understood what you're trying to say - I am assuming you're worried as you've tinkered with your questionnaire AFTER participants have taken part to skew your results in the direction you wanted? If that's wrong, then please say so!

If you're really that worried, you do have time to adminster the survey again. As far as I understand it when it comes to using surveys, as long as your survey was reliably and validly designed, and you can prove this, then you have very little to worry about.

Sounds like you're having a good day Espresso, hope you are feeling better. Thank you for my gift! I've written two of the outstanding sections of my chapter, now I have one left, and the conclusion to write and then I will put it aside for a few days. Fingers crossed I will get it done this afternoon!

That sounds brilliant Batfink! I'm sure you'll be able to knock something up! At least you'll get peer review comments from whichever journal you send to but I know what you mean - it's nice to get comments from supervisors before sending away! Sounds like you've had a brilliant week!

I'm afraid I don't know anything about ESRC studentships (and my studentship definitely doesn't "do" maternity pay) but I wanted to say HOW EXCITING! :-)

Always good to hear from PGF success stories - you've done really well, congratulations! Are there any ex-pat groups in Oz that you can join to meet others in the same situation as you? You've got plenty of time between now and Christmas to make friends, the world is your oyster! Don't forget you can always come back here and talk to us! :-)

Morning,

Have a great holiday Button (up) I'm off on my holidays soon too so "see" you when I get back too :-)

Today I will be mostly carrying on with my chapter - I have 3 sections left to write. I'd really like to get this chapter fully drafted this week so I can get on with other bits and pieces next week, such as an executive summary and a poster for a conference I've just found out that I'll be presenting at!

Have a great day everyone!

Honestly, I don't know. It's probably best to ask these questions of your research registry, or find out if your handbooks have any information about this. At my university you're given the option to transfer after your first year if you're not able to reach the standard required. You need to direct this question at someone at your university - probably a conversation best had face to face. Why not ask your supervisor what they think?

Hi - not sure if this is working as I keep getting an error code when trying to post!

Hello all,

I gave up trying to access the site yesterday as it was down my end! Well done Batfink for handing in your thesis so far, I'm not far off doing the same on Friday!

I had to come on and share that I've just for the first time ever created a contents page that actually WORKS! It's a big first for me (I know most people probably already know how to do it but I am very excited that I've just done it!)

Onwards and upwards now, lots more to do! Hope you're all having a good day! (up)

No they won't read it today, they're probably not even in the office! Go and have a drink and have a break! I'm calling it a day now as I've achieved everything I wanted to today. Have a good weekend everyone :-)

Sounds good Batfink! I've blasted my way through the corrections on my chapter so I'm going to take a break for an early lunch now, before coming back this afternoon to work on the introduction. Productivity all round (up)
