I'm enjoying my PhD. I found it a bit frustrating at times as it seemed to be one step forward two steps back but now that I have my design hammered out I'm pretty happy with the way it's going. I like my topic, my supervisory team are top notch and I find it a pretty flexible lifestyle.
Could anyone point me towards a really simple book/on line resource that would explain the different methods that can be used to analyse blood samples or cheek swab samples for genetic snps. I have no experience in this area so I'm looking for a dummies guide to get me started! I have tried to find one myself without any success. Any help would be gratefully received! Lydia
My supervisor asked me to come in for a chat too. It was quite informal. She sussed out my background in the research area and we talked about the project I'd applied for. I didn't take anything written down but she already had my proposal, application and references so there wasn't much else I could take. It was pretty relaxed.
