do people really get the summer off when doing a PhD?!

just wanted to share that ! had lots of problems but finally feel like things are coming to together and just reached 30000 words. yey!!!!!

depends how understanding the partner is.. i.e do they see how important it is. or do they still think of you as student etc?

forgive me for being completly stupid here but can anyone give me an idea of how long generally do people wait for a viva.. then after the viva how long before you find out if you have got the PhD.. i know i should know this but just realised i dont !

unfortunatly there are none! the postdoc in our group is based in another lab but is on holiday for a month!

thanks that would be great. ive tried to ask him in the past and he looks at me like im derranged. he knows i dont have a strong chemistry background, but the rolling of the eyes when i ask doesnt encourage me to ask!

yeah he is a muppet, a unhelpful one at that.. and then he wonders why i am scared to ask questions! feel to stupid crying over calculations!

can anyone help me i need to convert ng/ul to moles.. my supervisor called me stupid and walked off when i asked him.

if you have gained extra skills or msc there is no reason not to apply, that was likely to be the main reason you didnt get through last time.
