I am looking to give someone a free tutoring session over skype. All I ask is that you allow me to film it for my teaching portfolio so that my assessors and only my assessors can see it. I'm doing the qualification formally known as dtlls as a distance learning course due to my disability.
I have a number of masters qualifications so areas I can tutor in are sociology as my main subject but also food, arts and humanities. I could also offer a session on structuring coursework and/or a masters dissertation. If there's anything I could offer a free tuition session on that is useful to you then do get in touch.
It would be great to hear from you.
Some music courses are more humanities based than reliant on having any particular musical training so yes, it may be possible to get onto a music masters course without having done undergraduate study in it. It will be a particular type of music course that you'd be best to look at but still.
There is nothing wrong with doing a phd for personal development. It all depends on how you feel about it. Nothing is guaranteed whether or not you are funded.
Don't get so hung up on prestige. You are funded and have a good supervisor. Lots of people would love to be in that position.
Do German universities offer distance learning postgraduate degrees to UK learners at those kind of prices?
I'd be tempted to hand it in. I've done masters and not phd though.
Yep will do it now.
Also share it on Facebook and The Student Room to maximise replies.
Good luck :)
Is this just something that funded phd students have to do? Is it commonly the case?
Thanks for your advice.
I've decided to call it a day at PgDip. I don't think it's fair to myself to keep changing the goalposts, especially when financially it is causing me a lot of worry.
I emailed the uni early this week and have yet to hear back from them. I kind of fantasize that they're in talks about giving me a scholarship lol! Realistically though, it's probably just that they are busy at the moment.
No regrets. I believe that the PgDip will be suitable for what I want to achieve and I have enjoyed it immensely but with two masters degrees already, my financial and thus mental health needs some tlc :)
Nice one :) what are you doing in January?
So sorry to hear of such challenging times op. Wishing you and yours well.
Google for masters dissertations in your field for inspiration and to get an idea of what is expected of a masters dissertation overall.
I agree that the course is asking you to make the decision quite early on.
No matter what happens, work on that self esteem with a good counsellor. I speak from experience.
There are some excellent examples of masters dissertations online. Having a google frenzy with it has really helped me understand what is required. I'd urge you to do this.
Good luck :)
Don't make the mistake of committing to lots of extra curricular stuff because when the workload kicks in (which it will any week now), it could easily turn into an intense and very stressful juggling act.
